About The Cruise

Where does the ship go?
The ship sails past several historic and National sites on its way to and from Mount Vernon. Review our Potomac River Sights page >>>

Are there any age requirements?
No. Our Mount Vernon Cruises are open to every age from babies to senior citizens.

Is the ship handicap accessible?
Yes, our ship is handicap accessible. If you are using a wheelchair, you must arrive by 8am for special boarding. More details >>>

What is your smoking policy?
All interior areas of our ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who enjoy smoking may do so on the outdoor observation decks.

Will my cell phone work on the cruise?
Yes, your cell phone will work on the cruise. For the comfort of other guests, we ask that cell phone conversations be held on the outside decks.

Can I get to the ship using the metro?
Yes. Take the Green Line/Waterfront Metro. Our ship is approximately a 5-minute walk from the station. Just walk down M Street, turn left on 6th Street and go one block. Turn left on Water Street and Spirit Cruises will be directly in front of you.

Making Reservations
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are recommended but walk-ups are always welcome as space allows. Parties of 19 or fewer are often able to walk up and purchase tickets on the day of a cruise, but only if space is available. Groups of 20 or more should always make reservations in advance.

How far in advance should I make reservations?
If you're planning for a large group, call us as soon as possible. A few months will make it easier to accommodate all of your preferences. Of course, reservations can be made right up to the day of the cruise, provided there is space available. We also welcome walk-ups as space allows.

Which credit cards are accepted?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club.

Can I make reservations by phone and pay at the ship?
No. For individual parties, payment is required in full at the time of the reservation. We accept major credit cards, traveler's checks, money orders, certified checks and cash.

Last Minute Questions
What should I wear?
Casual attire is fine. A good pair of walking shoes is recommended for the Mount Vernon portion of the tour.

Is parking available at the ship?
Yes, car and bus pay parking are available just steps away from the dock. Paid Parking Lots and meters are located on Water Street. Motor coach parking is available in the Spirit Cruises lot across the street. Additional Metered parking is available one block over on Maine Street.

Do you sail in inclement weather?
Yes. The ship is fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort and cruises rain or shine.

What To Expect
How early should I arrive for my cruise?
You may pick up your tickets one hour before the cruise time. We generally board the vessel at 8:15am.

Food And Drink
What kind of food is served?
We feature a fully-stocked snack bar on the ship so you can enjoy breakfast or lunch while cruising. We also offer pre-ordered breakfasts and box lunches for groups of 20 or more.

How is seating arranged on board?
Our ships features open seating so you can come and go as you please. When a group has booked their cruise together we will do our best to see that you are seated together.
